STAKEHOLDER INTERVIEWS | INTERVISTE AGLI STAKEHOLDER

To create the stakeholders profile the researchers from the Architect Board started to interview them personally.

Meeting them was useful to collect housing needs concerning the people they're representing, understanding if they have projects on going and if there are possible sinergies among each other.

At the end of the interviews the researchers will write a profile for each stakeholder in order to disseminate the results of the interviews.

PARTICIPATION AS AN INSTRUMENT TO REDUCE FRAGMENTATION | LA PARTECIPAZIONE COME STRUMENTO PER CONNETTERE

Proposal for a participation action in Rimini:

The Architect Board of Rimini and Heriscape think that the best way to start to define strategies to address the problems of people to access Social Housing is to start a research on housing in the city of Rimini.

The work group decide to develop this research by designing a participatory process, helpful and fundamental to collect needs and to link all the actors working on Social Housing.

SOCIAL HOUSING IN RIMINI | L'HOUSING SOCIALE A RIMINI

Why talking about Social Housing in Rimini?

Heriscape, association of Bologna, and the Architect Board of Rimini, in the field of OIKONET project, propose to find a way to define needs and opportunities concerning Social Housing in a medium size city like Rimini.

Rimini is considered a good case study to reflect on some issues:

1. The financial and economic crisis and the change in the society causes a transformation of housing demand. The traditional instruments for Public Housing do not provide adequate responses to the new "atypical" housing demand. Is it possible to define the target?

2. Even if the social housing issue is characterized by the presence of many institutions, public and private, that operate at different levels addressing distinguished needs and targets, they often act without a deep coordination and cooperation necessary to identify demand, define roles and share a common policy to provide effective answers. How could it be possible to reduce this fragmentation?

E' possible definire e mappare i nuovi bisogni?

INTRODUCTION / INTRODUCCIÓN

This pedagogic experience involving architecture students and teachers from the School of Architecture La Salle, and members of the co-housing association SostreCívic, took place during the seminar “Civic Housing” carried out from October 2013 to January 2014. An on-going project promoted by SostreCívic to refurbish an existing building block in El Born neighborhood in Barcelona provided an opportunity to bring together dwellers and architects in a participatory process aimed at defining the characteristics of the future dwellings.

As the final output of the participatory process, students produced a brief to guide the design of the future dwelling in the building to be refurbished. The objective of this task was to describe an architectural program and to produce design guidelines based on the information obtained from the dwellers. These design guidelines were the result of processing the information received from the dwellers that were summarized under a theme.

Some of the themes provided by students using the previous template were:
  • Natural light: “Natural light, large windows and beautiful views were often mentioned”
  • Community: “Almost all of the participants mentioned that they wanted share their life with the community, not only rooms but also activities”
  • Green housing: “Many dwellers would like to have green spaces in their houses. Some of them suggested to have a place to plant fruits and vegetables”
  • Children development: “Families with children stressed that it would be important for them to have a special place for their children to play outside their apartments. This place would have different functions, for example: a place to draw and paint, to play with other kids and to do outdoor activities.”
  • Productive space: “Many dwellers mentioned that they would like to have in their apartment a place of their own, to work or study, do their hobbies, to relax and listen to some music, to read”.
  • Open kitchen: “Many people wanted to have a room to share with friends and family to do some basic activities like cooking, eating or just sitting together”

-

  • Luz Natural: "Natural luz, grandes ventanas y vistas eran a menudo mencionadas"
